ChoralNet Staff and Volunteers

Staff

Martin Knowles
Martin Knowles

Martin Knowles, manager

Martin Knowles shares the distinction of being part of ChoralNet's Canadian contingent, though his position as Director of Product Development at Lucidoc in Seattle ensures that he spends more time waiting in lines at the border than he'd prefer. He's responsible for answering last-minute questions, performing late-night technical firefighting, slinging source code, and taking care of the behind-the-scenes maintenance that ensures that ChoralNet stays on the air. When he's not in front of his computer, he can be found doing architectural photography, dancing lindy hop, and singing baritone in the award-winning Christ Church Anglican Cathedral Choir in Vancouver, BC.

Carol Millar Hague, a singer and keyboardist, received her L. Mus in Voice Performance in 1975 at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. For 10 years she sang professionally in Montréal. In 1988, she moved to Vankleek Hill, Ontario, where she teaches singing, piano and theory/harmony. She is the Registrar/Secretary for the Vankleek Hill Music Festival Committee and plays Sunday services at the Circles of Faith Community Church. She has co-directed Amaryllis Women’s Choir since its inception in 1995. In 1995, she was among the first group of subscribers who volunteered to moderate the three ChoralNet lists. Cindy Pribble

She counts her greatest accomplishment as staying married to the same man since 1969. She resides in NC with that patient gentleman, five mixed breed rescue dogs who won't run away from home and two Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens who wish they would. She has three grandchildren.

Michael Ransom, Moderator Coordinator

Michael Ransom is the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Marion, Iowa. His musical projects at FUMC have included large works for chorus and orchestra, and the opera The True Story of Cinderella for FUMC's inaugural Community Showcase Series. While at Westminster he sang the lead role in Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah under Professor Richard Hoffman. Bach's Magnificat and B Minor Mass.

Allen H Simon, webmaster

's first exposure to show biz was with Tanglestring Theatre, a family marionette theater which performed more-or-less abstract puppetry during his formative years. After several years spent learning to juggle, he went to a college renowned for unicycling. Having failed at that part of the curriculum, Simon turned his attention to music, initially as a composer, then as a conductor, then a jazz pianist, and now he'll certainly make it big as a singer.
